Bishop Philip Lim was elected Bishop of The Methodist Church in Singapore (MCS) at the 13th Session of the General Conference on 3 September 2024 and took office at the Episcopal Consecration Service on 6 December 2024. As Bishop, he oversees 46 churches, counsels 15 Methodist schools, and supports Methodist Welfare Services, while also providing episcopal leadership to the Methodist Church in Cambodia, Nepal, and Thailand. Prior to this, he was Pastor-in-Charge of Kum Yan Methodist Church and Chairperson of the Board of Ministry at the Chinese Annual Conference (CAC). A former missionary to Cambodia, he served there for seven years, helping to establish churches and community programmes, and later became MMS’ Executive Director from 2012 to 2018 before returning to pastoral ministry in 2019.
